EXPLORING FEMININE IDENTITY THROUGH ART.

JANA NEUMANN

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jana Neumann is an artist and painter whose work captures the multiplicity of the feminine—the ever-changing and shifting internal and external worlds, the relationship to self and other.

Exploring archetypes, both timeless and contemporary, she examines her own relationship to what it means to be a woman and delves into the many identities of femininity through her work: the mother, the sister, the daughter, the inner child, the leader, the follower, the warrior, the descendant, and the forebear. In the beauty of the divine feminine, there is something sublime, serene.

Using vivid motifs and abstract patterns that echo forms found in nature, she explores the subconscious realm. Her work often features organic shapes—reminiscent of the rings of trees or fractals that emerge through natural growth—creating a connection between the body and the earth.

Her work explores the subconscious relationship between femininity and self-perception, portraying women as giantesses—sculptural and powerful in their presence.

They interact with planetary spheres like goddesses manifesting the nature of reality.

Her work looks both backward and forward, imagining a future in which a matriarchal society exists in harmony with the masculine.
